Poly cystic ovarian Syndrome

PCOS is a syndrome of ovarian dysfunction along with the cardinal features of hyperandrogenism and polycystic ovary morphology. Its clinical manifestation include menstrual irregularities signs of androgen excess and obesity
Elevated serum LH level and insulin resistance and are also common features. PCOS is an associated with an increased of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular events.It affects around 5-10 % of women of reproductive age.

CLINCAL FEATURES

•  oligomenorrhoea/ amenorrhoea 
• hirsutism 
• sub fertility
• obesity
• recurrent misscarriage
• acanthosis nigricans
• may be asymptomatic
